My name is Heather Chesiyna.  I’m a Christian author and the founder of Goshen Planner®.

A fun fact: I’ve been blogging since 2005! Nope, that’s not a typo…it’s been 20 years🩶.

Goshen Planner grew out of my long-standing love for planning and my desire to live with intention.

A Love for planning and careful living

Growing up in the ’90s, my world revolved around craft paper, glittering stickers, pens, and planners. Planning wasn’t just something I enjoyed; it was how I made sense of life. I loved salvaging old planners from my parents’ stacks and reworking each page, turning them into something thoughtful and personal.

That same care showed up in other ways, too. Handmade gifts and handwritten letters were my language of love. My mom, recognizing the tenderness in every cut-and-paste, saved many of them as keepsakes (can you believe they still exist?)

Even then, I was drawn to organizing chaos and creating harmony within everyday clutter. I had checklists for everything. One of my closest friends once joked,
“It’s like you have neatly organized compartments in your brain.”

from organization to purpose

That knack for organization followed me into adulthood. In my professional life, I naturally gravitated toward creating training manuals, clever checklists, to-do lists, and structured resources that helped others understand information clearly and simply. I often received a “Wow, you did that?” in response.

Over time, I began to see how the small details of my past were shaping the work I felt called to do. What once felt like personality quirks became meaningful tools, allowing me to support others with clarity, excellence, and care.

Why the Name "Goshen"?

In early 2022, during a season of reflection and study, I felt deeply prompted to revisit the story of Goshen in Scripture. Genesis 47:27 describes Goshen as a place of provision and abundance, even in uncertain times. That theme stayed with me.

I shared these reflections in a blog post on my primary site, Made of Still, and to my surprise, the post went viral and was re-shared by many, even within churches. The response affirmed something I already sensed. This message was bigger than me and my blog. It was a rallying cry and something more.

Goshen Planner® is rooted in biblical principles of planning from abundance and learning to steward your time with wisdom, intention, and care.

Life isn’t meant to be lived in constant busyness or pressure. It’s about living in alignment with God’s will and recognizing that our time is precious. When we plan with that perspective, we begin to approach our responsibilities with intention.

Through faith-centered planning tools and resources, Goshen Planner exists to help you let go of self-limiting beliefs, choose excellence without perfection, and plan honestly from where you are so you can live out your God-given purpose and destiny authentically.

You don’t need to have everything figured out. You simply need a willingness to begin.
